Ocean of Peace: 100 YEars of sikhs in new westminster (2019)

Dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Khalsa Diwan Society New Westminster's Sukh Sagar Gurdwara, the New Westminster Museum & Archives hosted an exhibition featuring the history and stories from the Sikh community in the city.

harnam kaur & husain rahim plaza (2018)

15 public spaces in the City of Vancouver were named or re-named after prominent residents of the city, including South Asian activists Harnam Kaur and Husain Rahim.

mewa singh centennial commemoration (2015)

On January 11th, over 500 people came together to mark the 100th Anniversary of the execution of Bhai Mewa Singh. Artists, academics, and activists gathered in New Westminster to remember and recognize the site of the execution as well as the legacy of this important moment in Canadian history.

Komagata maru journey website (2011)

SFU endeavoured to create a website which offered a comprehensive portal for understanding the Komagata Maru incident through a variety of materials such as government documents, oral histories, private archives, artistic endeavours, and interviews.
